By my definition, re-indigenization is the process by which Africana people (All Black people) consciously reclaim, reconnect with, and reintegrate Afrocentric Ancestral knowledge systems, cultural practices, spiritualities, and worldviews into our daily lives. It is a decolonial praxis rooted in healing, sovereignty, self-determination, and cultural reclamation. To say it plainly, re-indigenization is the process of GETTING FREE. Free from white supremacy and its poison. This list does not contain every book you need to get free, but it has a good amount of books that will help you get there. These are books that I own, that I've read, that have helped me on my journey of reclaiming myself, and now I'm sharing them with you to help you reclaim yourself. This is not an exhaustive reading list, nor does this list have every revolutionary book ever written. It is, however, a list of books that I think would be helpful for those on a journey of reclamation, especially those seeking to reclaim our Black indigenous spiritual practices.
